Troubleshooting

Problem:

Client names not detected correctly

Solution:

Enable content-based sorting for better accuracy

Steps:

  1. 1Toggle on content analysis in Sortio settings
  2. 2Re-run the sort with the same prompt
  3. 3Content analysis only occurs when you explicitly enable the content sorting toggle

Problem:

Too many small project folders created

Solution:

Add minimum file count requirements to your prompt

Steps:

  1. 1Modify prompt to "Only create project folders for projects with 3 or more files"
  2. 2Specify a catch-all folder for smaller projects

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Sortio read the content of my documents to sort them?

Yes, but only when you explicitly enable content-based sorting. By default, Sortio uses filename and metadata only. Content analysis only occurs when you explicitly enable the content sorting toggle.

Will this work with confidential documents?

Yes. You can use Offline mode which processes files locally on your device without cloud connectivity. Your documents never leave your computer in this mode.

Can I sort documents in multiple languages?

Yes, Sortio supports multi-language sorting. Simply include your preferred language in the prompt, for example: "Sort these documents by project (documents are in Spanish)".
